Review of Here Comes the Boom (2012) by Wes G — 22 Nov 2013
Kevin James as a leading man, well it's always been a head scratcher. Indeed he is likeable but not spectacular. Why did I like this - well I mean its essentially Rocky or The Warrior just with Henry Winkler as a fumbling side kick.
The plot and dialogue is almost paint by the numbers stuff and the end result is telegraphed from a mile away - included is a tacked on "everyone is happy" ending. All of these things considered and despite the fact that UFC is very hard to make look like anything less than ugliness personified - I still kind of enjoyed it.
I'm sorry I guess.
