Unhappy and frustrated working for Australia's largest cinema chain film buff Brad McBain (David Argue) decides to go it alone and set-up his own old-style cinema the revamped Picture Palace featuring classic old films. The Palace will open with a glitzy Gala Charity Night featuring the mini epic "Hercules Samson Machismo and Ursus are Invincible". But ex-employer the Kent Corporation's egotistical boss Sir Michael Kent (Michael Carman) will stop at nothing to ruin McBain's plans switching the Italian epic with a non-subtitled version. Not to be thwarted McBain his weird projectionist - Sprocket (Bruce Spence) and forceful publicist - Lisa (Mary Coustas) are forced.

To come up with new dialogue sound effects and story line improvised from the projection booth. The hilarious improvisation has Hercules as a caberet artist who is forced to take on the now wimpy Samson. His true love Labia though seems more entangled with Testiculi. Hearing the audience in an uproar of approval ex-boss Kent is even more determined to destroy Brad and his side-kicks.

Also stars Richard Moss, Burt Cooper, Tom Coltrane, Sally Patience, Matthew King and Tammy McCarthy.

Directed by David Parker.
