Review of Hercules and the Amazon Women (1994) by Law C — 18 Jan 2007
This made-for-TV movie launched what would become the Hercules: the Legendary Journeys TV series that would last for six years. Despite the high cheese factor, low quality special effects, and wide flubbing of Herakles' 9th labour, this is fun fantasy.
It's no surprise that it spawned a TV series; however, the series never lived up to the movies. Anthony Quinn was the perfect choice for Zeus, exuding playful, ancient lecherousness. Watch for a pre-Xena Lucy Lawless as badass Amazon Lysia.
