Review of Hercules (2014) by Bradley P — 03 Jul 2011
Seeing films from your childhood memories after been many years all is an experience in itself. A lovely film for kids an adults all alike showing a very pop culture version of Greek Mythology. Filled with lots of enjoyed songs for the kids, plenty of action and comedy from start to finish.
"Rule Number 15* The hero is only good as its weapon".
Some beautiful visual shots coming from the gods and the titans which goes very well with the film, at the time the style was not used in any or at least some Disney films of that era making it exciting and unique as visual art. One thing I notice about this film which stands out is the sound from the events in the film are done superb and could surpass many films to this day.
The story is a great idea, the young Hercules finding where he belongs and proving to his father Zeus to become a true hero so he can return home to Olympus but questions arise to him is that really where he belongs and that fighting and been famous isn't really the true way of been a true hero.
Hades is a brilliant evil Disney character , funny, sarcastic and of course evil. Without this style of character I doubt this film would have done so well. Overall a very fun film which you are able to watch many times probably without getting bored especially if you are new to the film.
