For the first time in a Disney film, the female lead (Megara) actually asserts herself as a true human being. Jasmin was nearly there in Aladdin, but only in Hercules do we see true equality.
That combined with a compelling storyline, amazing songs from the genius of Alan Menkin and Disney best super villain - Hades played by James Woods - you have the all time best Disney feature.
A heavy mix of emotion, comedy and catchy melodies with have you coming back to Hercules time and again.
