Review of Hercules (2014) by Chris D — 12 Sep 2014
Gospel, Soul, electric guitars, pianos, a joke about The Rolling Stones and a beautiful story of self-improvement with clear connotations of Rocky: this is how nostalgia sounds. It is not on the Top 3 of the 90's Disney, but of course one of the most well-remembered and beloved for me.
Packed with a fascinating score by Alan Menken, a histrionic James Woods taking the role of the neurotic villain Hades, and a beautiful musical perfomance (I Won't Say I'm In Love, sung by Susan Egan and composed by Alan Menken).
.. that's The Gospel Truth!
