Review of Her (2013) by Marlon A — 17 May 2015
This is not a chic flick where boy meets girl where they fall in love, break up, and marry. This is about a man who " felt everything that he possibly could."Hes a 50 year old man who writes emotional letters for people, divorced from a relationship which he thought was destined to last forever, lives in a futuristic beautiful LA where there are more skyscrapers and the streets are cleaner, until one day decides to buy an advanced AI which makes siri look like an mexican knock off technology and he falls in love with it.
I know, I know, it sounds weird about a man who fall in love with an AI? But this is a new feeling which he can explore with something so intelligent and immortal. He also helps the AI develop feeling for itself.
Its a unique sight watching a man falling love with his phone and returning the love by giving it emotions. Its a movie that you will never find in the movie business. With Scarlett Johansson benevolent voice and Joaquin Pheonix transformation as Theodores character, Her thrives.
