Review of Henry's Crime (2010) by Mloy X — 28 Oct 2011
Usually I find Keanu's stoic demeanor a part of his allure; but there's being charming and then there's just being indifferent and unfortunately in this film he projects the latter. I guess it's what the character calls for-- to look defeated, but eventually when things start going his way, you'd think he'd be encouraged to emote, even just a little.
I don't know, this film didn't have the usual Keanu charm. Vera Farmiga was a gem, I adored her character in this one. Judy Greer was sorely underutilized because she too is a very talented actress.
Liked James Caan and Fisher Stevens, but didn't love them, they were just all right. Peter Stormare was awesome! But overall, the film, much like Keanu's acting, was lackluster. Sorry K, but I still adore you as a thespian and will watch anything you do.
:D.
