Review of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986) by Leetal P — 22 Nov 2008
Very effective and creepy film loosely based on the exploits of notorious serial killer Henry Lee Lucas. The film was shot on a shoestring budget, but this does not hinder its effectiveness, and Rooker really makes Henry a horrifying figure.
The scene with the videotaped murder in particular is chilling; McNaughton chooses not to make this film exploitation and instead tries to present it in almost a documentary-like fashion.
