Review of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986) by Jack G — 01 Feb 2010
For such a perverse film, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer is rather subdued. Most of the murders (though not all) take place off-screen--though disturbing none the less due to the audio accompaniment as we see the final situation of the body.
The violence, though, when it occurs, is grand in its graphic nature--not for the young or the weak-stomached. The production values are low--the visuals (even on Blu-Ray) are grainy and look more like something from the 70s than the 80s--though the aesthetic works well with the kind of film Henry is.
