Review of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986) by Dfg D — 07 Feb 2010
Wow, what a dark and disturbing film! "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer" follows the title Henry, and his buddy Otis as they drive around Chicago searching for people to kill out of sheer boredom.
This movie doesn't have a lot of dialogue, but it uses actions rather than words to convey this duo's sick way of life. What really got to me was the rape/murder scene where Henry and Otis break into a family's home and kill them.
Their actions are completely sick and deranged, and director McNaughton, shows every second of it through the characters' VHS camera. It's probably one of the most disturbing scenes I have ever watched.
"Henry" is a great film, but don't see it if you're in the mood for something "happy".
