Review of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986) by Andres O — 20 Oct 2012
Disturbing, outrageous, brutal ultra-violence seen from the killer's point of view. The scenes are so graphic that even after viewing a plethora of violent films, "Henry" manages to be utterly shocking.
Misogyny, madness, voyeurism, necrophilia and incest are mixed up in a whirlwind of blood and frightening cruelty that will alienate many viewers. Not a film for weak stomachs. In fact, not a film for many.
If the viewer manages to get past the borderline gratuitous savagery, there lies a story of desperation and misanthropy in an inexorable world.
