Review of Henry Poole Is Here (2008) by Jason K — 18 Oct 2008
Henry Poole is hiding from a life shattering reality in suburban L.A. However, his attempts to hide from the world are repeatedly thwarted by nosey neighbors, a little girl who mysteriously won't talk, and a water stain in the new stucco on the side of his house that looks kind of like Jesus that apparently weeps tears of blood.
I like this drama/comedy b/c of the questions it raises in a sometimes light-hearted, sometimes heart breaking way. Luke Wilson did a surprisingly good job at portraying a man who is angry, scared, and repressing signs of hope all at the same time.
Good for a Saturday night at home with someone special.
