Review of Henry & June (1990) by Jennifer P — 14 Jun 2009
Wow, reading some of these reviews by some of these guys makes me wonder what movie they thought they were watching. The cinematography is the film is completely languid and seductive, flowing effortlessly from scene to scene.
The story line follows closely to the book, but one's imagination set free on the printed word is always better than watching another person's interpretation on screen. But with that being said, I feel that Philipe Kaufman did a superb job in making this film pleasing to the viewers' many senses.
Seeing this film the first time, I felt totally liberated and thoroughly enjoyed the acting, music and message that I believe was beautifully delivered.
