Review of Helvetica (2007) by Marilyn T — 11 Mar 2008

This documentary doesn't border on the absurd but it definitely borders on the slightly off-beat. I definitely learned a lot about Helvetica that I didn't know before, and it was interesting to delve into typographers' and graphic designers' minds as far as what they think about when creating new fonts.

The area shots are fab and some of the kooky personalities interviewed for the film are a treat. This doc does run a bit long at over an hour, bu if you're ready for a documentary about the history of a font, then forward ho!
