Review of Helvetica (2007) by Tony O — 22 Apr 2009
The film explores typography, graphic design and global visual culture. Also, it shows us the impact that a type-face can have on our every day lives.
I saw this documentary on PBS' "Independent Lens" and it's definitely one of my fave films on design.
There's too much that is considered "too small" or "too trivial" that we take too for granted. I loved seeing how passionate the type-designers were about Helvetica. I could easily relate as I'm just as passionate when it comes to type-faces+design when related to the beauty/fashion/writing industry.
I think Helvetica is an amazing, clean, clear, timeless/classic type-face and the power of Helvetica will forever live on!
