Review of Helvetica (2007) by Wut S — 26 Jun 2010
Since I work in art and design industry, this film greatly appeals to me. The film not only discusses on Helvetica typeface, its history and how it becomes, but more on the impact it has to the industry and design philosophy in general.
When the film took a turn of direction and showcases the works of those who "rebelled" against Helvetica, I was impressed. This is a film that is much more than a single font type. With the scope of discussion having such magnitude, the film unfortunately felt incomplete as the credits rolled.
Still, I consider this an hour near a half of goodness.
