Review of Hellraiser: Inferno (2000) by Roxanne R — 24 Jun 2011
He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword..When he hurt and cheat on our friends and family, karma eventually catches up and as they way what comes around, goes around. That is the premise behind this installment of Hellraiser that takes place in Los Angeles.
This one is a real, dark look at the soul of a materialistic, corrupt cop (Joseph) who has given his life over to delights and pleasure and who then thinks he is pitting himself against pinhead (The Engineer as referred to in the film) when all he is really doing is living in hell! The cop is played by Craig Sheffer, Nicholas Turturro plays his partner Tony and yes Doug Bradley is back again as the terrifying PINHEAD.
For the fans- this one definitely shows more Cenobites and more of Pinhead, it is scarier and dark, a bit depressing. Directed by Scott Derrickson. Overall it kept me entertained and I did like the script more than Hellraiser Hellseekers.
The cop liked to solve puzzles and play chess, but his family life was in shambles. This is the type of film that makes you be so thankful that you are NOT in Joseph's shoes!! Whatever you do, DO NOT open, DO NOT mess around with that puzzle box because you don't want these people coming after you and they will once you solve the puzzle box! Recommended to watch just once.
