Review of Hellraiser: Inferno (2000) by Tim K — 11 Aug 2011
This movie is boring. It is dull and really ineffective as a horror movie or a thinking man's (or woman's movie). Pinhead has a pathetic amount of screen time that amounts to nothing (at least Hellseeker had him DO SOMETHING in his screen time).
One thing to mention is the effects of this movie. While the gore and whatnot is few and far between, this movie has very real looking effects (actually one of my favorite in the entire series are the two women rubbing the man's chest).
The performances are bad and while Doug Bradley is effective as Pinhead, he does so little that he can't really save the movie. Depressingly, this series appears to have run out of ideas by this film and really just pads the movie with useless dribble in order to make a run time.
The exciting bits in the series after part 4 really would not have added up to the length of excitement in the first film (which is considered by casual movie goers as boring). Overall, a boring film that really does nothing to further the overarching story line or introduce an interesting segment of that story.
I recommend NOT watching this unless you are trying to fall asleep.
