Review of Hellraiser: Inferno (2000) by Iain P — 17 May 2011
It's a really good psychological supernatural thriller. why it's a hellraiser movie i'll never know. I wouldn't be surprised if it had been originally written as a film separate from the hellraiser series but somewhere along the line it was rewritten and adapted into the hellraiser series. hardcore hellraiser fans aren't going to like it perhaps because it's a big departure from the series. the last quarter of the film had a bit of a silent hill quality to it aswell, which I liked.
It's worth a watch. it's very much the "guy ritchie's revolver" of the hellraiser series (insofar as revolver was a departure from guy rithcies usual style and had alot of deeper themes and metaphorical shit in there and sticks out in that respect to his other films).
