Review of Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth (1992) by Jose M — 13 Jun 2012
I may have mentioned my disliking for the first Hellraiser film due to the poor acting and unlikeable characters. The film was very bad, but yet I did like certain aspects raised in terms of philosophy.
Now, I managed to see Hellraiser III- Hell on Earth which features and hard rocking soundtrack, Motorhead, and Cenobites, so how can I lose? Well, the acting from is tremendously bad! The two female leads are uninteresting and laughable when they speak.
Pinhead is now given an identity and past which ruins mystique behind him, the Cenobites, and the mask. His character goes from a neutral character with an S&M desire to a villain which ruins what the first one brought.
This film makes the first one rather recommendable, plus the view is full screen which makes the too compacted. There are few entertaining moments including an iconic scene from the alter at a church, but other than that and the soundtrack everything sucks.
