Review of Hellraiser: Hellseeker (2002) by Max M — 11 Aug 2011
This movie was a very effective horror movie in the Hellraiser series. While it kept the original story very close to its heart, it added just enough more to be effective. It is probably my favorite sequel to Hellraiser after 2.
I enjoyed the return of the Kirsty Cotton character and the triumphant return of the non-boring cerebral element. While the film apparently is disliked by most critics, I think it is a relatively well-done sequel.
Pinhead is not shown much, so don't go into this expecting a lot of him, but the plot of this movie is very interesting. Finally, the final plot twist is actually really creative and actually made me gasp.
All in all, it is an effective horror movie but more effective at being entertaining. Some of it is boring, but the ending and the performances make it worth it.
