Review of Hellraiser (1987) by Baurushan J — 26 Oct 2013
The story is about Frank played by Sean Chapman who finds a mysterious puzzle box that will either send the holder to heaven or hell and he is sent to hell where he meets the evil Pinhead played by Doug Bradley and his other army of monsters known as Cenobites.
When he returns to Earth, he looks like if his flesh has been ripped of and forces his wife Julia played by Clare Higgins to kill other men so that he can drink their blood and return back to normal. But his niece Kirsty played by Ashley Lawrence starts to suspect the truth and tries to stop both Frank and Julia.
Pinhead himself is a scary villain because of his extremely powerful abilities. He's no Freddy, Jason or Hannibal. He's someone completely different to those. The story is completely demonic and told in pure brilliance and the horror is just unique.
Written and directed by Clive Barker who also wrote the book The Hell-Bound Heart which this movie was based off, Hellraiser gets a 10/10.
