Review of Hellraiser (1987) by Chris M — 02 Apr 2010
When I read reviews of the Hellraiser franchise I hear too much of "too much dialogue, not enough gore" and vice versa. What, is it too hard to pay attention to both? As always, the dialogue lured me in as I was learning about the innocent and deviant characters.
The disturbing loyalism of a woman's love for her demented adulterer shows us the constant real life fact of just how far people are willing to go to get meet their goal no matter how blurred or disfigured it becomes.
In a good way the movie is visually disgusting, despite its age. Christopher Young's composition is both powerful and taunting giving nothing more than original goosebumps that will never leave.
