Sally Field is fantastic! An absolutely perfect role for her to create this layered, bold, sad, provocative, brave, joyful, annoyed, curious woman during a shifting time in her life. Her supporting cast is spectacular but Sally is the gem in every scene.
This film is so fresh, but serves a new view with almost trite plot tropes from old school rom coms which can set us aback at times, and then it tilts and skews the expected just enough to make us laugh out loud.
It was a delight to see. I'm just so happy this film was written, directed so well, given license to the set costumes and lighting to blow it up and to Sally Field, if I believed the Awards were valid at all, the academy would write her name down immediately.
