Review of Hello, My Name Is Doris (2015) by Daisy P — 20 May 2016
This film does a wonderful job of balancing comedy and drama. When it does the 'comedy' part, it is truly funny, and when it does the drama part, it is truly heartbreaking and emotional. Sally Field also does a wonderful job of creating somebody that audiences of all ages can relate to.
She plays a very well-rounded character that is original and hasn't been seen before. The movie comes across as a comedy when you watch the trailer, but it takes you through many different heartbreaking life experiences as well, and this works brilliantly with both the plot and the characters.
