Review of Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008) by Harry P — 09 Jun 2011
Hellboy II: The Golden Army is a fantastic movie in every way. The writing is even better (something I didn't really think was possible) the action is fantastic and made even better by Danny Elfman's epic score and a definite improvement on Marco Beltrami's almost boring score from the first movie.
Guillermo Del Toro is a man of incredible imagination and vision, which is something I respect very much about him. The movie is perfectly cast and better than its predecessor in every single way. The troll market scenes are a testament to Del Toro's brilliant character designs.
Fantastic characters and hilarious moments also serve to make this not only one of the most memorable sequels ever, but one of the best movies ever made, period.
