Guillermo Del Toro surpasses his original vision of Hellboy with ease and loads of fun. I love this film for what it is, a true action-adventure fantasy, a magnificent cinematic journey with a ton of heart.
Del Toro mixes elements of the original hellboy with Pan's Labyrinth to assemble one truly beautiful feast. It's fun, funny, dark, sometimes scary, and overall heart warming maybe even a little breaking - it is a sweet story in the end.
And the action sequences are really one of a kind for a film like this with its colorful characters. I love it.
