Review of Hellboy II: The Golden Army (2008) by Wes M — 02 Mar 2012

"I love this song. And I can't smile or cry. I think I have no tear ducts.".

I thought it was gonna disappoint me, nope. I liked it. I mean, it's a fun action movie, that's also wildly imaginative and original. Just like the 1st one, Del Toro struts his stuff when it comes to inventive monsters and dazzling special effects. And Hellboy's abrasive personality, always a plus. I was sitting there thinking "wow, this guy doing the score is totally ripping off Danny Elfman." Uhh, no Wes, that WAS Danny Elfman! Another cool thing was the Troll Market: it was quite reminiscent of The Cantina. O, and I liked how they got rid of that Meyers guy from the 1st one, with a simple 2 lines of dialogue haha.
