Hellboy 2: The Golden Army is a bona fide classic, a hodgepodge of fantastic ideas, action, romance, and humor to match the greatest of filmdom's offerings.

I felt like a kid in a candy store, thrilling to the action, awed by the beauty and spectacle, excited by the originality and detail, and utterly disarmed by the sincerity and depth of the emotional arcs of these singularly original characters. Hellboy 2 is a winner, through and through. Guillermo del Toro can proudly take his place alongside the likes of Spielberg, Lucas, and Scott as one of the most important voices in modern fantasy cinema.
