Review of Hellboy (2004) by Damian W — 14 May 2011
For having a world of potential, Hellboy is rather average and not because the elements weren't there, but because there was too much bringing the film down. Rupert Evans and Selma Blair are amongst my list of lower level actors.
To be matched with Ron Perlman and the role that feels tailored to him, to then instill a cast of bad acting, it tremendously takes away from the film. I wanted more sinister and depth and less hokey love story and lighthearted comic book adaptation.
