Review of Hellboy (2004) by Nikki C — 29 Nov 2012
This is the superb dark, visually stunning fantasy that originally made Guillermo del Toro one of my favorite movie makers. A fantastic action movie, with imaginative monsters, beautiful cinematography, and great acting.
It's also quite funny at times, and then quickly reminds its viewers of the griminess of the fantasy world in which they are so engrossed. Hellboy is an all-around great action movie on every front, even if the ending leaves a little something to be desired.
