My Review.
"What makes a man, is it his origins?".
It's hard to write a review based on material that I have barley any knowledged of. I only know that this movie is based of an acclaimed comic book series from Dark Horse comics written by Mike Mignola's. That is the only bit of knowledge before I saw this film. It's like the time I saw Spawn knew nothing except it was based of a popular comic book series that a new be at comics hasn't read yet. This truly is a great flick.
The Film revolves around the infant red child that was found during world war II, he is part man part devil. They acquire the infant, we go forward in time to the late 20th Century, and most of the film concerns an adult Hellboy still working in conjunction with the U.S. government to help battle monsters and the paranormal.
I really do think that this film is great with the substance of character it has for Hellboy. You really do feel for the character at some moments even if he is hard blown asshole sometimes like Agent John Meyers thinks. He wishes to be with Liz but fears he can't because he isn't all that human and he is considered as an evil perpetuous monster. Ron Perlman is the best Hellboy which is why he also voiced the character in animated features.
The special effects are great and still hold up to this day. I liked Doug Jones as Abe, the aquatic humanoid who has the power of telepathy.
Hellboy is a film worth checking out if you like films based of comics and a big recommendation, it's a great film I give Hellboy a 4 out of 5 stars.
