Review of Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988) by Mark R — 01 Dec 2007
To me I thought this was alot better than the first one. in this film they actually enter the world of hell to solve the puzzle and destroy her stepmom juila and evil uncle frank. once kirsty opens the lament box and summonds pinhead and the rest of the cenobites, they understand they were summond for pleasure and not pain.
doctor channard teams up with julia as he has brought her back to life having studied these boxes for years. now he has become an evil creature in hell discovering all the pain and pleasures of hell, and hes out to kill them all.
a decent plot, with lots of gore and murders, the box is transformed into a impossible puzzle thats hard to solve and time is running out. what I don't understand is how these cenobites have no power, except to throw chains with hooks at people.
in this film the evil doctor takes pinhead's and the rest of the cenobites power away, leaving kirsty and her friend to save earth from this demonic plague. decent film, better than the first, will have to wait and see how the other hellraiser films pan out.
