Review of Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988) by Mikael N — 06 Nov 2008
Usually sequels are simply horrible of horror films (Howling II anyone?). However, Hellbound is a solid follow up to Barker's classic. The story is pretty strong, though not as compelling as the original.
However, unlike the first we get to see Hell for a much longer duration and the Cenobites are given a much larger part. The effects are heavily outdated in some shots, but it is understandable. If you are not a fan of gore, do not see this movie, or if you are in any way squeamish.
Content: frequent very explicit violence/gore, infrequent moderate nudity, infrequent strong language.
