Review of Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988) by Will D — 24 Jul 2009
A decent followup that picks up where the first film left off. This time, Hell's let loose on Earth and a girl, a survivor whom was sent to a mental institute after previous events of the first film, must prevent anything worse from happening.
As well as takling the same surreal nightmarish atmosphere of the first film, it also has backstory to the discovery of the puzzlebox and the creation of the cenobites that spawn from it, and explores more on what hell looks like; having seen only a portion of corridors in the first film.
I don't know if this tops the first, but these two movies are both quite great in their own way.
