Review of Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988) by Luc L — 08 Sep 2012
Worthy sequel that picks up right after the first movie. It is more ambitious than the original, it has some good ideas, it is visually impressive for a low budget movie, but not the entire story pays off and that is the main flaw of the movie.
It is fun to watch Higgins back as the evil Julia. Cranham is the standout as the mysterious Dr. Channard. Also Hope from "Aliens" has a nice supporting role, I wish his part was bigger. One of the best parts, when you discover the lead cenobite Pinhead (Doug Bradley) back story.
It is fun for those, who loved the first "Hellraiser". Others might find this one boring or utterly confusing.
