Review of Hell Ride (2008) by Demetris H — 27 Sep 2008
I really wanted this to be good especially with Michael Madsen and Tarantino involved in it, unfortunately it fell very short. Maybe had I grown up in the Easy Rider generation I might have had more of a connection with the movie, but aside from the excessive nudity (which was awesome because every chick was fucking HOT!!) and the pretty cool violence that happened too infrequently for my liking this movie was pretty much a bore with a plot that thought itself way smarter than it is, and it just ended up confusing the hell out of me, and what I think takes the viewer out of the experience because I didn't know what the hell was going on or who was who or what the fuck! Also, the ending was way to Pulp Fiction for my taste, maybe the fact that I have seen two movies with clear Tarantino influence just got me wanting something different, but the fact that the keys had 666 on them, and there were three keys needed, and you never saw what was in the briefcase, it was just waaaay to Pulp Fiction for me, like I mean an homage is great, but I thought it took it a little far. And besides the repetition in this movie just got annoying, I mean seriously every second word out of these guys mouthes was either fuck or 666.
Anyways, if you're interested in this film go see it because even though I didn't like it as much as I'd hoped to, I am glad I saw it, but if you haven't heard of it prior to reading my review just stay away from this movie lol.
