Review of Hell Ride (2008) by Marco M — 08 Jan 2009
"Quentin Tarantino presents" is definitely not a seal of quality for this movie about "booze, bikes and booty." What little plot that exists is an excuse to show some T&A and tough guys beating each other up.
The semi-star-studded cast (Michael Madsen, David Carradine, Dennis Hopper) could not save the script that, despite its unfortunately obvious association with the Grindhouse pictures, took itself too seriously.
The editing made scenes painfully long. The dialogue sounded like it was written by Diablo Cody (Juno) after severe head trauma. Its only redeeming qualities are the T&A and getting to see Hopper on a bike again.
It just goes to show that no amount of money can save a bad script. Please do not watch this movie. Just watch Planet Terror and Death Proof again.
