Review of Hell Ride (2008) by Sergio P — 30 Aug 2009
Pistolero is the President of the Victors, an outlaw Motorcycle Club in a patch of Arizona refered to as Hell and devoid of anything but Bikers and Babes, who lives by the three B's (Bikes, Bros and Booty) alongside his lieutnants The Gent, Comanche and Eddie Zero until The Victors old enemies The 666ers return led by Billie Wings and The Deuce, set off a storm of violence, broads, treachery and one peyote fueled trip.
Directed, written and starring Larry Bishop, a veteran of biker movies in the 60's and 70's Hell Ride feels like it belongs side by side with the 2 offical Grindhouse movies Planet Terror and Death Proof, with the bad or over the top acting, skantly glad women who drop their panties at a glance, and gleeful celebration of an over the top biker fantasy world without any law or civilians to clutter things up. Like Rodriguez's and Tarintino's (who Executive Produced) Grindhouse efforts this film is enjoyable dispite itself as long as your in the right mindset (also helps to have a few buddies handy and lots of beer and whiskey handy).
