Review of Hell Ride (2008) by Robert M — 26 Dec 2009
Once again, if you are a fan of the "genre", you will dig this movie. Not as good as other films Quentin Tarintino has been associated with but then of course, he didn't write or direct it.
Larry Bishop (son of Joey Bishop) wrote and directed it. The same people are there from most of Quentins' movies. Michael Madison, David Carridine, Larry Bishop, etc. With a few surprise extras like Dennis Hopper and Vinnie Jones (Snatch, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels) as Billy Wing who likes to kill people with a pneumatic spear gun! It's also a good movie for fans of 70's era "biker flicks" and fans of motorcycles as well.
Close attention to detail was made to all the bikes in the film. I learned a lot from the DVD extras. Things like the Indian that actor Eric Balfour rides is one of the hardest bikes in the world to ride.
Watch the DVD extras to find out why. It's pretty cool stuff. Not a great flick but not a bad one. As with most of these "types" of movies, it will have you laughing at things that you will tell yourself later, "I shouldn't have laughed at that!" But it's human nature.
;).
