Brutal and poetic, Hell Ride is so much more than an 'homage' or a 'throwback' to classic biker films, as it has been pathetically and ineptly described. As a writer, Larry Bishop is, always has been, grossly unappreciated.
His dialogue is electric, his characters vivacious and captivating. Hell Ride gloriously triumphs everything that makes 'exploitation' cinema so special; the expressionism, the vitality, the magic.
It may not be realistic, but contrary to apparent popular opinion, realism does not always equal quality. Tarantino told Bishop it was his destiny to make the greatest biker movie of all time, and that's exactly what he did.
