Review of Hell or High Water (2016) by Mark C — 29 Oct 2016
This is a modern western about two very different brothers who rob banks in an economically depressed West Texas to raise the money they need to save their family farm. It's also an ethical thriller, which left me wondering who was bad - the robbers, or what they robbed.
Great action sequences and cinematography made it visually exciting, but the stand out was the performance of Jeff Bridges as the Texas Ranger in pursuit of the robbers. Highly recommended and a movie that I suspect will be appearing in a number of award nominations over coming weeks.
