Hell or High Water is a thoroughly entertaining modern Western with a trio of excellent performances. Chris Pine, Ben Foster, and Jeff Bridges all excel in their roles. They deliver Oscar-worthy performances, especially Foster and Bridges.

Also, I loved that these characters were really fleshed out. You cared and rooted for all of these characters, even if they are in opposite sides of the law. The story, while not the most original, definitely entertains.

While there are some slow moments, the film definitely doesn't drag things on. With a lean 102 minute runtime, each scene in the film feels like it matters. The film also features an excellent script and nice direction.

Overall, while the film isn't perfect, it delivers a compelling plot and interesting characters.
