Review of Hell or High Water (2016) by Will P — 04 Jun 2017
HOHW brings the western genre roaring into the 21st century. This enthralling, thrilling modern parable obliterates the ancient boundaries of "cowboy" and "indian", and what these titles once imbued in Hollywood, and pitches working man against working man, while the role of the insipid villain is reserved for the banks.
We follow our leads through daring heists, casinos, and the wild west while being hunted by an equally endearing ageing white Texas Ranger and his native partner. This is the best directed film I have ever seen.
