Review of Hell in the Pacific (1968) by Simono K — 13 Feb 2008
2 legends, Marvin Gaye and Toshiro Mifune battling for the remote control! One wants Grange Hill the other Biker Grove!
One of the best films made about war but often overlooked. Marvin previously had active army duty, not sure about Toshiro though.
A Boorman classic and recommendable to anyone with an attention span and sensibility beyond Dory. Toshiro is as intensely brilliant as ever and Marvin understated as both character realise the enemy might actually be themselves.
