Review of Hell House (2001) by Nathan B — 22 Jun 2010
Amazing! the film is constructed in such a fluent way I found myself getting jealous I wasn't the editor.
With no narration, Ratliff allows the members of Trinity Assembly of God Church to tell their own story. other than a wrestling sequence scored with a comical track, and two or three awkward editing pauses to highlight the absurd statements in a few interviews, the director spends zero time making fun of his subjects. it's the perfect way to tell this story.
I could go on and on about how much I loved this movie but I won't. you should just see it for yourself.
