Hell Fest delivers what it advertises but it also leaves certain key moments out of the delivery it self. The concept is new and fun. Mixing the current trend of Horror theme parks such as Universal studios and bringing a twist of an actual killer creates an atmosphere that is good for Halloween but also fun.

Although much of the acting is not so great and most of the characters are forgetful or annoying, it doesn't fully take away from the plot. The movie is a perfect modern take on the slasher genre without giving away too much of the killer.

It is a simple formula- group of teens- and a masked killer stalking them leaving the main good girl left. The setting however is what gives the movie an extra factor, having the audience not know when the killer is real or part of the theme park.

And while many people say how the film is not scary. Don't look for jump scares which is a common reacurrence in the modern horror genre. Look for moments where the characters feel hopeless and dread.

Hell Fest is not a perfect movie but it is not bad. It is no where near being an iconic horror movie or stand out film. But it does deserve more recognition. If you go in looking for something to keep you up at night, this is not it.

This movie deserves a chance.
