Review of Hell Drivers (1957) by Tom M — 23 Aug 2007
Brutalist minor-masterpiece, perhaps not surprisingly from a foreign eye - Endfield, the director blacklisted by Hollywood.
Morrissey has often modelled himself on Stanley Baker here. And the great performances keep on coming: a nihilistic Patrick McGoohan, an insidious William Hartnell, a strange Herbert Lom. I want the Special Edition on DVD!
