Review of Hell and Back Again (2011) by David M — 25 Jan 2012
A perspective highlighting the difficulties of war and the forgotten difficulties of reintegration to what is commonly called "normal life". A very good companion piece to 'Restrepo' and all other films which seek to address the reality of both serving and the effects of it of re-integration into society.
It was particularly interesting at the beginning of the film, seeing a high ranking solider use the same incentives that were used in the 40s during WW2. Thus it is least surprising the same problems after combat remain current.
